OVER 2000 WINS IN 2012! :: April 12th, 2013
BILSTEIN, the world’s leading manufacturer of monotube gas pressure shock absorbers, celebrated thousands of victories on the racetrack in 2012. This year, the trend continues with over sixty wins through the first weekend in April. These outstanding results are occurring on dirt tracks and road courses across the country and include drivers from NASCAR, IMCA and UMP Modifieds, Street Stock, Hobby Stock, Dirt Crate Late Model, Limited Sportsman and more.
This success started this year with Alex Job Racing taking the podium in Daytona. Equipped with BILSTEIN MDS shocks, the WeatherTech Audi R8 GRAND-AM racing team of Felipe Albuquerque (Portugal), Oliver Jarvis (England), Eduardo Mortara (Italy), and Dion von Moltke (Coral Gables, Fla.) won the GT class of the 51st GRAND-AM Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Speed Weeks in Florida provided many other victories like Jimmy Wells at East Bay Speedway in his Mod-Lite racer and Nick Hoffman at Volusia Speedway in his UMP Modified. Nick’s Modified car is equipped with the new BILSTEIN XVS shocks. Volusia a string of BILSTEIN wins that included Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace in their UMP Modifieds as well as Danny Johnson, Stewart Freisen, Rich Laubach and Brett Hearn in their Big-Block Modifieds. At New Smyrna Speedway, Chuck Hossfeld took the podium twice in his Asphalt Modified. On February 20, Steve Park took the checkered in his Asphalt Modified at the famed Daytona Speedway. The Gator Title at Volusia went to BILSTEIN-equipped Kenny Schrader in his UMP Modified and Danny Johnson in his Big-Block Modified.
Fourteen of the BILSTEIN’s recent victories, including one championship title, can be attributed to their state-of-the-art XVS (Xtreme Volume Steel) Series motorsports shock absorbers. Completely rebuildable at the racetrack, these shocks have a 46mm steel body monotube design that provides consistent, fade-free performance in many types of oval track racing applications.
Steven Beaty, Aftermarket and Motorsport President of BILSTEIN, said, “BILSTEIN has been part of both professional and amateur motorsports for more than 50 years. This deep involvement in racing allows us to develop better, more advanced shock absorbers for both the race track and the street.”
